Review Published for Nanomaterial Products and Application in Agriculture, Feed, and Food in the European Union (EU)

A review has been published in the August 2016 issue of Trends in Food Science & Technology which was requested by the European Food and Safety Authority (EFSA) regarding applications of nanomaterials which are already marketed and in-development in the agri/feed/food sectors. The review entitled “Nanomaterials for products and application in agriculture, feed and food” highlights the usage of nanotechnology in agricultural production, animal feed, food processing, additives, and food contact materials with the most often mentioned nanomaterials being nano-encapsulates. The review also shows how the market is moving from inorganic to organic nanomaterials.
