Manufacturers in Japan are among the first to produce commercial products using cellulose nanofiber (CNF), a material created from biomass which has a low environmental impact in its production and disposal. Many of these were on display during the December Nanocellulose Exhibition in Tokyo, where Vireo Advisors was a first time exhibitor. CNF has successfully been used in the production of disposable diapers, ballpoint pen ink, toilet bowl cleaner, and audio speakers. The future potential for commercial production of products using CNF is large, ranging from automobile parts to cosmetics. There are, however, areas which require further research. Researchers are working to discover how to reduce production costs, increase the ways in which it can be used, and to further health and safety assessments. Vireo Advisors is working with governmental, regulatory, industrial, and academic sectors to further advance the commercialization of cellulose nanomaterials. Please contact us for details!

2019 International Conference on Nanotechnology for Renewable Materials
Meeting Date: June 3-7, 2019
Location: Makuhari Messe International Convention Complex | Chiba, Japan
Vireo Advisors is pleased to host a workshop entitled "Cellulose Nanomaterial Safety, Building a Bridge from Theory to Practice"
at the 2019 International Conference on Nanotechnology for Renewable Materials. The workshop will focus on the occupational and environmental safety demonstration for cellulose nanomaterials, with special consideration of nanoscale properties of the materials. Concepts will be explored with case studies to present current knowledge, theory, and state-of-the-art practices for meeting regulatory requirements, and safety demonstration.
