Feeding Microbes with Waste Bread to Ferment Foods

Scientists have developed a technology that uses waste bread to create a medium to kick start the growth of bacteria, yeasts, and other microorganisms for fermented foods such as wine, yoghurt and sourdough. This waste bread medium cost about 1/3 less than the conventional media used to produce microorganisms for fermenting.
