Dr. Jo Anne Shatkin
is an expert in novel product safety and environmental and health policy issues, with over 20 years experience leading projects in risk analysis, safety and regulatory policy work including numerous publications. She is founder and president of Vireo Advisors in Boston, Massachusetts.

Dr. Kimberly J. Ong
is a biologist and toxicologist leading our novel cell cultured product work. Dr. Ong is an expert in developing protocols specific for testing novel materials and ingredients for regulatory analysis.

is a toxicologist experienced in testing strategies for novel materials, including molecular, biochemical and cellular techniques, and is experienced in life cycle risk assessment.

Dr. Julia Marschallinger
is a Cell & Molecular Biologist with experience across the R&D pipeline for cellular agriculture, including cell line development, differentiation, suspension adaptation, media optimization, and safety testing. She brings this expertise to safety evaluations of alternative proteins and cultivated meat and seafood products.
Yueyang (Brian) Zhang
is a MITACS Fellow with Vireo. He is a toxicologist and a post-doctoral fellow at University of Alberta.
Julia Griffin
is a chemist and a recent Mount Holyoke College graduate with a B.A. in Chemistry.
Leslie Hockman
is Vireo’s administrator and has industry experience working for a commercial manufacturer of cellulose nanomaterials.
