March 2025 Working Session: Developing an Action Plan for Cultured Meat Safety

Interested workshop participants must apply to attend. Apply to join this session here: https://lnkd.in/ePgc5dgz

This session aims to foster collaboration amongst individuals interested in actively working on or advising cultured meat and seafood safety research.

Working sessions will identify steps for conducting collaborative and pre-competitive research to address cultured meat safety priorities, which were outlined in our previous publications (Ong et al. 2021, Ong et al. 2023).

Experts and researchers in food safety, toxicology, biomanufacturing, cell biology, food science, and other related fields are encouraged to apply. Prior experience in cultured meat safety research and participation in prior CMSI work are not required to participate in CMSI Phase 3 working sessions. If you are interested in working on cultured meat safety and have expertise in either CM or food safety, this workshop is for you!

💰Travel support is available to a limited number of participants, with priority for early-career and under-represented researchers.

Additional dates and locations will be announced soon. Learn more about the full series here: https://lnkd.in/gP7jsqC3

This session is part of an ongoing series hosted by New Harvest and Vireo Advisors as part of the Cultured Meat Safety Initiative (CMSI) Cultured Meat Safety Initiative. Generous in-kind support for venue space has been provided by Wildtype, and the networking session is co-hosted by the University of California, Davis iCAMP (Integrative Center for Alternative Meat & Protein). Financial support for this working session series was provided by the US National Science Foundation (NSF) (Grant No. 2417703) and the US Department of Agriculture National Institute of Food and Agriculture (AFRI project 2024-07959).
