Join us for the annual UMaine CNM forum!

The annual UMaine CNM (cellulose nanomaterial) forum starts today, Wednesday, August 24, and continues on Thursday, August 25.

The Forum convenes leading researchers and innovators working with cellulose nanomaterials. Register today to attend in-person or online. Discover the latest research, and learn about new commercially relevant applications.

• Qi Wang, R&D Director – Technology Platform & Fiber, Sappi North America, will share market insights for fibrillated cellulose, highlighting the challenges and opportunities.

• Jo Anne Shatkin, President, Vireo Advisors, will share information about qualifying novel bio-based materials for the market: EHS, sustainability, and beyond.

• Ken Zwick, Assistant Director, U. S. Forest Service, Forest Products Laboratory, will highlight the latest wood, fibers and composites research and innovations..

Their presentations headline an exciting 2 day program of oral and poster presentations.

We are looking forward to stimulating discussions – and to special events including the dedication ceremony for the new Ferland Engineering Education & Design Center and a special exhibit by UMaine artists exploring CNM as an artistic material.

See you there!
