Vireo Advisors Celebrates Nano Technology Day 2017

Yesterday was National Nano Technology Day 2017. The Vireo Advisors team celebrated in different ways!

Jo Anne listened to Michael Goergen's Ted Talk about nanocellulose: Using Tiny Bit of Trees to Save the Forest. See the talk here!

Kim spent National Nano Day salvaging the remaining vegetables and fruits from her garden, wishing there were a nano solutions to encourage ripening before frost gets them all,  keep her tomatoes from cracking, AND keep her dog away from them!

Leslie read "Horton Hears a Who" by Dr. Seuss to her toddler. Afterwards, she gave her toddler scratch and sniff stickers and spoke with him about how some things are so small that you can't see them but they are still there (The Whos, the scent molecules). Then she spoke with him about how, like The Whos, nanometered-sized things are very small, and often behave differently than larger things do.

James spent the day hiking and considering the awesome potential of nanocellulose!
