Dr. Jo Anne Shatkin
is an expert in novel product safety and environmental and health policy issues, with over 20 years experience leading projects in risk analysis, safety and regulatory policy work including numerous publications. She is founder and president of Vireo Advisors in Boston, Massachusetts.
Dr. Kimberly J. Ong
is a biologist and toxicologist leading our novel cell cultured product work. Dr. Ong is an expert in developing protocols specific for testing novel materials and ingredients for regulatory analysis.
Dr. James D. Ede
is a toxicologist experienced in testing strategies for novel materials, including molecular, biochemical and cellular techniques, and isexperienced in life cycle risk assessment.
Wei Ng
is a microbiologist. Dr. Ng received a Ph.D. from Yale University and a B.Sc. in Biological Sciences from the University of Pittsburgh. She joined Vireo Advisors in 2022 and has worked on projects in cell-cultured food and textiles, as well as other bio-based materials and technologies.
Kora Kukk
is a bioengineer and recent University of Maine graduate with an M.S. in Biomedical Engineering.
Yueyang (Brian) Zhang
is a MITACS Fellow with Vireo. He is a toxicologist and a post-doctoral fellow at University of Alberta.

is a fellow and an environmental scientist and biologist with experience in plant-based meat development and sustainable agriculture.
Dr. Shaun Clancy
is a chemist with over 30 years experience in the chemicals industry, directing programs in health, safety, and regulatory affairs in major corporations. He is ANSI Co-Chair and participates in ISO TC229 and other international safety committees.
