Green Science Alliance Co., Ltd. has established a manufacturing process which mixes nanocellulose with biodegradable plastics such as poly lactic acid (PLA), poly butylene adipate terephthalate (PBAT), poly butylene succinate (PBS) and others. The addition of nanocellulose increases the mechanical strength of the composite material while light-weighting and has benefits over other strengthening materials (such as glass or carbon fibers) in that it is biodegradable.
