Green Science Alliance Manufacturing Biodegradable Plastic/Nano Cellulose Composite Material with Enhanced Mechanical Strength

Green Science Alliance Co., Ltd. has established a manufacturing process which mixes nanocellulose with biodegradable plastics such as poly lactic acid (PLA), poly butylene adipate terephthalate (PBAT), poly butylene succinate (PBS) and others. The addition of nanocellulose increases the mechanical strength of the composite material while light-weighting and has benefits over other strengthening materials (such as glass or carbon fibers) in that it is biodegradable. Green Science Alliance Co., Ltd is exploring the possibility of making light weight, biodegradable, plastic molded products (trays, food boxes, straws, cups, cup lids, etc.) using the nanocellulose composite.
