GO Dough Simplifies Delivery and Storage of Graphene Oxide

A moldable, pliable, shapeable dough of graphene oxide has been developed by mixing ultrahigh concentrations with water. ‘GO Dough’ solves transportation and storage issues for companies that produce, use, store, and ship graphene. Traditionally, graphene is stored as (1) dry forms which are highly combustible; or (2) dilute dispersions, which greatly increases the weight and causes issues with transportation and storage. The lead scientist of the Northwestern University project, Jiaxing Huang explains that by using GO Dough, a 5 kg shipment of graphene oxide would only weigh ~10 kg. He hopes that GO Dough will help make graphene more accessible and ready to use for researchers.
